That's really it isn't it, when it all comes down to is that I should learn to remember where my keys are instead of assuming that I carry them with me. Go ahead I shall damned if you do not get that laughter out now.

As I was saying in a rare feat of rememberance I simply assumed I had my keys with me instead of checking. Oh the fact I was merly going to skip out for a second did come into play there but overall I felt it was simply be a moment and then what door could stop me?
Turns out the one on my dorm was the one that stopped me. Now I had left the open I could have reached through and unlocked the door but no I have to enjoy the fact the Air condition works in there and not open a window.
It is perhaps a real show of my abilities to continue to look at the problem for nearly an hour instead of going to the front desk and seeing if they had a spare key, which they did. I had to examine the window to see if I could open it, to look at the door to make sure it was firmly attached to the wall, for if it wasn't who knows what could have happened. After nearly an hour of this, I finally decide to go to the front desk and get the spare to open up the room and get my key.
What this shows is not only what legths I will go to to prove my occasionly bouts of stupidity but also the process of my thought. I would rather look at the problem for nearly an hour to make damned sure I was locked out instead of simply assuming I was. That is ingenuity a kind of humanity that probally hasn't been seen in years. The sort of humanity that causes people to settle in the deserts, swamps, or other lousy areas. The sort of 'I'll be here and all else be damned', or 'it may not be much but in a few (million) years it will be something'.
There is probably a good reason that this logic is no longer with us and that happens to be out ancestors died out, they finally found out how bad it was to live there and died trying to get away.
